Fuel Pump..
#2
I heard Walboro (sp?) fuel pumps are good. They fit the 4th gen, but I dont' know about the 5th gen. Adam (My 4DSC) was asking about it before, but I dont' know if he tried it or not.
Larger injectors? Not sure if they'll do any good if you're idling or not taking your car hard. You'll also need ECU reprogramming to make them work effectively. Unfortunately, no one can reprogram them yet BUT, BUT, BUT..... The Racers Group, or whatever they're called (formerly known as The PROgram), has a piggy back that might be able to trick the ECU.

Well...
First off thanks for the reply kev I was starting to think that if you asked a question here that you need to ask something about how to rice out your car. Not obvisiouly all max enthusiasts. Any way now that I vented that. I talked to stillen and they said that for 575.00 they would reprogram my ecu. So I am looking to do that right now. Hopefully it will come through. If not I will be looking into a walbro pump or something. Thanks again for the reply.

Just spoke with Dave Burnette at Town North Nissan, and he said the fuel pump is in side the tank on the 4th and 5th gen, but he is not sure if they will fit, it depends on the size and fitting of the 5th gen. since its diff than the 4th gen, also the 2002 has a diff fuel pump.

Did some one say fuel pump upgrade?
I was looking at the 5th gen FSM (Thanks to those who know who they are ) and it looks the same as the 4th gen. I'm be 95% sure that its just about the same, Walbro GSS432. When I did mine, I left the car apart for a week. Sooooo if you really want it take the pump out spend some time looking for one that matches and make it happen. You will need a new gas tank O ring seal from Nissan.

Where do most ppl buy the Walbro from? and is it the same as the Z or better. I guess what I am asking is what is the specs on the Z compared to the Walbro, and compared to the stock pump. Thanks

Lookie heree for info on the walbro's
http://members.home.com/syclone/APE/....html#overview
I can gaurenteeeee that the 255lph high pressure pump out performs the 300zxtt pump. I cant prove it but I'd bet my new hair dryer on it...

He built it up for 8psi with a 125hp profogger nitrous set up, forged rods and pistons. I'm thinking more than 10psi of boost and 50hp nitrous. I just got to figure out the fuel issues. I'm buying some TT injectors and mabye the Vortech Super FMU or Apexi AFC. An inter cooler and oil cooler would be needed too, along with Boost, Oil Pressure & Oil Temp Gauges.
What dumb luck to stumble upon that deal as early as I did. I'm just hoping the install and all goes well. Ive been preping my garage and have a motor hoist lined up. So with a lot of wrenching I'll have a SC/NOS Maxima. Steve said its capable of easy 12's... Well see!

Sorry to hear about your divorce.
Blower and happy juice? You've got the engine to do it with, so good luck with your project. Vortech Super FMU, eh? Hmmmm.........
How are you going to deal with the fueling for the TT injectors since your ECU isn't reprogrammable?

The Vortech Super FMU is like an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for boosted motors. It will let you set the idle fuel pressure as low as 20psi, stock is 33psi. So If I set the fuel pressure lower than stock at idle it should compensate for the larger injectors. You can also adjust the max pressure under full boost up to 90psi. You can also adjust the rate at wich the fuel rises relative to the boost level. Its made for situations like this. If that dosent get it I'll throw an APEXI Super AFC on top of that and it should work fine. Steve did send me his 96 ECU so I could just swap over to that, but it kinda PITA to do it. and JWT wants $550!! I have plenty of patience with this kinda stuff so I'll go with my own tricks for now...
