is this normal?!!

i posted this on nycmaximas.org also....
http://forums.nycmaximas.org//showthread.php?t=12219
Ok so here is my problem. Ever since i bought my 02 6 speed this february i noticed something fishy about my tachometer. whenever i rev/accelerate/decelerate in first or second gear the needle on the tach goes up gradually--like it goes up then hesitates, up, hesitates, etc...it kinda wobbles its way up to the redline...and same thing when i let off the gas or slow down; wobbles its way down. the thing is, the car accelerates perfectly smoothly.

And another problem, when i accelerate in any gear (even in 6th on the highway) and let off the gas, i hear a little scratchy sound from the dash...sometimes when i put the clutch in too...its kinda weird.

someone PLEASE help me in figuring out whats wrong in any of these situations

thanks in advance

The tach it self is probubly bad, you can replace each guage individualy. I have seen that befor on other vehicals so I would suspect that first.

I cant start threads but I REALLY need help...

Problem...

I'll be driving and my car will stall. I don't mean when starting from stationary and i stall... I'll be in second or third gear with the clutch in, comming to a stop and my car will come to a rolling stall.. I turn it back on and continue -- all while moving. There's no bucking either. In fact, I'll be in second gear and for instance Ill be going around a corner at a slow speed (maybe 10mph) and the clutch will be in.. and poof -- stall. This isnt normal. It's happened to me four times total. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Fuel pump or ignition problem?

Side note.. my Service Engine Soon light came on and I had someone get the code and he told me it was the Cat converter or an O2 sensor.. I asked which one it was and he told me most likely the Cat converter.. Could this contribute to the stalling?

I hope the answer is something simple like a spark plug. Heh.

The answer is your MAF. Find out how to change it in ANOTHER THREAD. Do not post about this problem here.

Is it loud or quiet, like mabe the needle scrathcing the face? I would replace the tach first it may solve both issues.

You can get one at the your dealer I'm not sure if they are avalible at a parts store. I've never replaced one in a 5.5g max, but I would definatly try doing it yourself and save about 1.5hrs labor. None of the other nissans I've done were very dificult .
