Beating a dead horse--> 02 MT lips same as 02 Stillen Aero??

Ok I have looked at all the old posts, but I am still not sure about this;
The Max Tuning Lip for the 02-03 is it the same as the 02-03 Stillen Aero Lip or just the 00-01 Aero lip
I looked on SCO and that is what it looked like they were showing, but some older posts seem to contradict this..
and correct me if I am wrong, but the Aero and the Classic are two different lips?

Aero and classic ARE different. The aero swoopes up on the sides, and really is imo not too good looking (sorry all who believe differently). And as for the max tuning and stillen lip, definately different from each other. Go to www.sportcompactonly.com and you can look at them back to back.

this is the Stillen Classic, for 00-01

and this is the Max Tuning front lip for the 02-03

i know they arent the same angle, but to answer your question, yes, the look of the lips is the same. they dont fit the same cars however, but they do look basically the same.

There is no Stillen Aero front lip. There is the Stillen Touring, and then the Stillen Classic for the 02-03. So depending on what year car you have, would depend on which one you would purchase for the "AE" look.

when I said stillen Aero lip for the 02-03 I was referring to this http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...2132&c=129&l=2
it doesnt seem to have the same look as the MT, but the one listed for the 00-01 (like one you have pictured) does?

according to Stillens site, there is no such thing as an Aero Lip, thats just what they used to refer to their whole kit as.

The style you linked to is this. This is what Stillen calls the Classic Lip for the 02-03

If you want something like that for an 00-01, it doesnt exist, it only fits the 02-03.

So, the Max Tuning lip is for the 02-03, which looks like the Stillen Classic 00-01 lip. The problem is that stillen refers to them both as classic for some reason, but the style you posted and i have a picture of does not exist for the 00-01.

If you like the 00-01 lip better as I did you'll like the look of the MT lip on your 02-03 front.

MAXRB8 How does your MT front lip match up with the stillen skirts in comparison with your stock 02-03 skirts?

Did you have you body kit installed or was it DIY? Either way, how did you fill in the gaps between the kit and the body itself. I installed mine and there are some gaps that I would like to fill in, but just don't know if regular Bondo will do the job or I need some flexible material to do it.

Thanks.

The MT lip is pretty thick and wide as it wraps around to the fender, when I was looking into this it was KCMC582'S car kit that inspired mine so props again to him, so he and others said the factory 02/03 side skirt wouldn't really carry the flow as well as the wider Stillen piece would and wanting it all to look "right" I opted to go with the Stillen sides, but to justify the additonal cost I opted to go with the ebay Stillen knock off ABS Dynamic rear piece which is sooo much cheaper. Purchased it from these guys:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-01...5270QQtcZphoto You don't have to buy from ebay call them direct mention Andrew fromt he Maxima.org ref'd you @ 909-595-4798 ask for Alvin or James ( they are in Cali)

I had it done by my local body shop, and I'm glad I did, the sides and rear needed some "convincing", there are only two gaps approx 1/4" on either side with my front lip which are located between the loglamps and radiator opening, but I'm sure that's the same on them all, I didn't want it filled as the flexing of the lip would only crack the filler other than that it's a really nice snug fit, funny it was the expensive Stillen sides that needed the most work to fit properly. But I think the overall effect is worth it. Hope this helps you guys.

My stillens need some convincing too all around, especially the side skirts. From afar they don't look too bad. I'll see when it gets nice and hot up here ( if it ever does) and I'll try re-installing these.

Thanks for the help

IIRC, the background information on the MT lip is that it is a copy of the stillen aero lip just modified for the 2k2/2k3 bumper. I still remember all the hype and excitement (and the drama) when they were first coming out with the prototypes because at that time, the only lip available for the 2k2/2k3 was the touring lip. Maxxtuning did pretty well in making a stillen aero copy for the 2k2/2k3.

Yeah as you guys said I DIY my ABS rear, and I have a few small gaps that don't match up perfectly, unfortunately with the Pearl White paint its pretty noticeable.
