Alternator Replacement HELP!

I need a new alternator. My upgrades to my max put a severe power strain on my car, which damages the starter and battery. I have, in addition to the additional electronics, an underdrive pulley. I am going to install a beefier alternator to solve those problems before my starter and battery die (again). What rating is my alternator now and what should I replace it with? For instance, what amperage/rating? Also, how easy is it to remove and replace the alternator? Thanks in advance for the help.

OEM altys are 110 amps. Not sure what you could replace it with other than a 110 amp Bosch alt. Two of my friends replaced an alt in a 01 in about two hours. They say they could have done is faster if the radiator was removed. Better get a Hayes manual.

Is it as simple as picking an alternator with a higher rating? I have a feeling that I need to be more specific than that but I really don't know. If it is 110 already, then what about 130 or 140?

Anybody?
