I got the xpel put on my lights, mirrors, hood, and bumper. It looks great because it is not noticable. The hood line is the only one you can see. The guy that installed it said black is the color that you can see it on the most. I hope it was worth the $$. I will try to get pictures soon.

I just got it installed also. Found out about XPEL here on maxima.org. When I was checking out their website I noticed that they are headquartered here in my city, San Antonio, Texas. So I called them up, went over to see it on some other cars, and had them install it.
Because my max is an AE they had to design what they are calling the lower skirt kit. So all the other AE owners should now be able to order it. I had the hood, bumper, mirrors, headlights, fog lights, and lower skirt kits put on.
My thinking is that is should prevent a lot of the paint chipping that everyone's been talking about.
I hope to take some pics and put them up soon.

RussMaxManiac,
They are on Gulfdale near ISOM and 281. The name of the company is Reflex Enterprises. Their primary business is to manufacture the XPEL kits, but they do some installations by appointment.
I worked with a guy name Mike Mayall. Here is their info:
Reflex Enterprises
10414 Gulfdale
San Antonio, TX 78216
210-342-7114
They do a lot of BMW's and high end luxury cars, but if you mention a 2001 Max AE, Majestic Blue, I'm sure he'll remember me.

First off, beautiful choice on your color

Sounds like you are pretty satified with the results. So they have the patterns needed for a AE kit now thanks to you!!! How noticable is the hood line?
Do you know if they have a installation shop they can refer me to in San Francsico, CA? I would like to get this put in. I am noticing alot more chips now. Thanks!

What did it cost you?
Can anyone recommend a reliable installer in the Houston area?

SFMax20SE, one way to find an installer is to go to this page http://www.xpel.com/forms/installform.html and put in your zip code. It should tell you where the nearest installer is. Another option might be to call them at 800-447-9928.
I am very happy with the results. The hood line is more noticeable on darker colored cars, but I was suprised how well it looked on the Majestic Blue. Such a great color...
Good luck!

The kits cost about $379.00 including the extra AE skirt kit. The cost of installation was $150.00. This was on par with what people had said they paid here on maxima.org.
I could have purchased the kits cheaper from http://www.clearmask.com, but I wouldn't have been able to get the AE piece and I would have had to brave the installation myself.

just buy it from clearmask and find a place where they install XPEL
