o2 simulator voltage question

Yesterday I installed an o2 simulator on my 2000 cali spec bank one downstream o2 harness.

I have tested the sim on a 12v source and the led works but when attatched to the harnes the led is not coming on. I have the wiring correct, black to black, red to red/gold, and white to white.

I used my multi meter to test the black and red/gold voltage and it is extremely low.

I am looking for suggestions on why I don't have the required voltage to run my sim. Hopefully it is just something simple that I have overlooked or don't understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

stonnie

I am really not sure about the Cali spec cars to be honest, but I can tell you I just finally got my SES off this past weekend. The guy that installed my headers actually extended the wires OVER the turn in the header pipe and >>>>>> BBUUURRRNNTTT my wires..couldn't figure out why the SIM wasn't working. Back to the moral of the story. The SIM should be displaying a change in voltage if working correctly. It should be "switching" back and forth from lean to rich, or simulating it for that matter. DO you have a cattman sim or another brand?

I purchased the o2 sim from o2simulator.com.

My main problem is that my red/gold wire is not providing 12v power. When I attatch the meter to the black and red/gold wire I am getting three volts.
