KYB-GR2 Struts w/ Vogtland Springs (56k enter at own risk.)

Before: Stock
Pros: I loved the ”floaty” feeling and loose handling that the maxima had when I first got it. So I thought.
Cons: I didn’t like how high the car sat on the wheels and how the entire car would slingshot when turning.

Stock.

---------

After: Lowered
Pros: I lowered the car enough for my liking. After a week of driving, the bumps that I immediately noticed when I first installed the setup were as good as gone. The fact that I can now take corners and stay between the lines of the turn w/o feeling as if the car will flip or slingshot is worth the purchase alone. Not to mention the looks, if I had a chance to go back to stock I would never go back. EVER!
Cons: None so far

Progress so far.

----------

Verdict: Like a lot of people I was hesitant to get springs and struts because I liked the handling and feeling of stock but I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the new purchase. If you like the lowered look, but hate the lowered ride quality go with the KYB-GR2 Vogtland setup.

I'm currently on GR2's with Maxspeeds but would love to go to the Vogtlands, congrats!
Any chance you could measure from the floor up past the center of the wheel to the fender on the front and back and post it here? Just to confirm from Housecor's home page

when I swap to coilovers mine will be available. I like them but want a bit lower ride height. bluesbrekr's max with d2's looks awsome and that is the ride height I want. to do so, its either s-techs again, or coilovers. might as well try the c/o since i've yet to try them.

I have had the exact same setup for a few months and absolutely love it. I thinks is tough to find a better bang for buck setup. Especially for the struts not being adjustable. Great choice Split Level

So what about some comments? How is the ride quality compared with stock? Would you say these springs are on the conservative side or performance? How much did ride quality decrease? I have no idea where to place these springs in respect to H&Rs. I am in the process of selecting a daily driver spring combo. How are these as daily drivers?

Thanks,

Mark

Compared to stock you feel more bumps but after a week you will barley notice them any more. The handling has increased 100%, you feel as if the car is planted to the ground so there is no worrying about swaying or rocking when taking turns. From my own opinion these springs are a combination of both performance and conservative. You will not feel every single little bump in the road to the point your just vibrating down the road. But you can still feel confident in taking corners faster then normal and not worry about slingshot. As for placing the springs just do a dry fit with the struts and the springs before replacing them on your car. I am a daily driver and I could not be happier. Especially for the price I got the setup for. Just around $500 shipped.

Looks nice! May I ask where you got your KYB-GR2's from and how much? I've got some TEIN H's, new rims and new tires going on as soon as I get some time. I anticipate having to replace the struts but will wait till they go. I was wondering how the KYB struts stack up. Thanks.
