well i have 8500 miles on my max now, i was curious is this vehicle manual a good source for what to check for. It says i should "Inspect brake parts, steering link , front suspension, exhaust front drive shaft boots and get a tire rotation"
Should i take it the nissan dealer so it can be done or will they do the usual and rip me off.
Or should i go to a pep boys?
Any reccomendations are appreciated.

maybe...

I rotated my tires because I didnt want them gouging my wheels. I just used two jacks on each side of the car since the tires rotate front to back and dont cross (making it pretty quick and easy), level with tires chocked. While off, you can see the brake pads and CV boots.

If you dont have the time or access to an area to do this, then its not really a rip off.

Re: maybe...

hey Tim, what does "gouging the wheels" mean, just curious.
How much do you think tire rotation and all those checks go for?
Anyone done it at a nissan dealer?

well

I would guess 60-ish for oil/tires/checks.

I meant that they let the socket slop around in the lug well and scratch up the wheels. Rather than stop right before the lug is free and take it off by hand the rest of the way, they sometimes just hit it until the lug is beating around in the hole. It knocks off the paint and actually digs into the wheel if bad enough. I cant stand that. Its just sloppy and uncalled for. However, I'd rather do the swap myself then try to explain to them what I'm worried about.

Its always a pain buying new tires too.
