Unsuall wear on tires and nose on front passanger side
Unsuall wear on tires and noise on front passanger side
Hey,
Anyone got any ideas, I have a lowered max, and on my front passanger side the inner side of the tires wear out faster than the outer side. And there is a weird noise and little vibration comming from that side.
I did my alignment and it said it was within specs.
I checked my wheel bearing and it doesnt wobble nor does the break disc.
Any ideas, Ive went through about 2 tires with the strange wear pattern. Ill post some pic of the tires so you can see.

Looking at the pics it could also be a Toe issue...
My old Saab went through a set of tires in 6000 miles thanks to an F*ed up Toe and it was chunking off like that...

Would that be the weird noise im hearing.
How would a person go about fixing that.
Its like the tire leans in too much so its at very slight angle cant really tell when its on the car. But its there, by the way the tire its eating away.

When they do alignment they enter your vehicle and it automatically figures ride height. I'm not to sure if lowering the car would require a change in alignment specs or not. Anyhow I would defiently rotate any new tires every other oil change.

IF you are talking about the toe... It can be fixed with a proper alignment and when the tire gets screwed you get a wierd thumping noise from it...
I rotate every 5-6 months but its chews though them faster, the noise just got louder within the last 2 weeks, maybe its because the missing rubber of the tire on the road or he said a toe issuse,
Any suggestions fixing it. Gets expensive buying new tires.

That does not mean they did it right...
My Saab had three alignments before someone smart enough did it right.
I said
to $900 worth of tires.

take out mod springs???
probably not.
drive slower ????
doesn't make much sense cause those are some huge chunks of rubber. not your usual w & t
sorry I got nothing.
It's really hard to tell from the pics, but are your tires cupped? Run your hand up the tire. (IIRC opposite direction of the way the tire turns down the road. If the tread goes low then high at the beginning of the next tread then they are cupped. (IIRC)
If this is your problem you may want to have your struts and suspension looked over real well.

About 9 months ago I had a 'whirring' noise that drove anybody riding w/ me crazy
I just thought it was my tires getting older.
Finally brought it to the dealer, the figured out it was both
rear wheel bearing hubs assemblies...(?)
They replaced both and the whirring stopped.
Now, I'm not saying that's whats causing your noise, but figured
I'd throw it out there for style points.

mine was so bad, my brother rode w/ me and asked if I had a hole in my muffler...
I had gotten so used to it, just kept yokin' up the music
I don't think this would cause the divot's in your tires, but it could explain the noise
the "whirring" noise he is referring to doesn't sound much like a tire (to me anyways, I can tell the difference.) It's hard to describe the difference, but a wheel bearing sounds more like a humm going down the road. (in my experience). Also (in my experience) a tire sounds like thud thud thud hundreds of times a minute going down the road and a wheel bearing sounds much smoother (a constant humm) for lack of better words.
