same here, i work on wreaked maximas all the time, so far i've repaired 3 5th gen. Maximas, and it isn't a big deal to install the air bags yourself.

who painted the bumper before he bought it? any legit place would have reistalled airbags since its illegal not to. i think he wrecked the car not long ago, got his insurance check and is keeping it.
Man you are so right. I did this with my old escort gt that got wrecked a week before I was due to drop it off at the dealer where I was trading it in on a jetta. So I went to a junk yard and brought the parts myself to fix the damage, keep the insurance check and traded her in......Stay away from that car.......

Salvaged cars are worth about HALF of an equilivant car with a clean title. Also, good luck finding some insurance company which wont raise your rates through the roof to insure that thing.

Not worth it in the end...

Thanks to all who replied. I was never serious about buying the car, especially after seeing those "pictures". I found a 99 SE 5 speed with 27,000 miles that is holding my interest at the moment. I will post about that car in the 4th gen forum. Thanks again!

I feel offended by this statement. enuff said

I've seen this car on cars.com for over a year. Why wouldn't insurance have covered him on this???
