I want to purchase 3 LEDs for my climate control buttons..and also one for the light right under the climate control that shines on the shifter. I found a website which looks to have similar bulbs... but i am confused with buying the bulb..the base or what,can someone take a look on this page and see if you know which bulbs I need?
i think the 5th bulb down "Neo Wedge Based Incandescent Bulbs" are for the climate control.(are these same bulbs in the instrument panel?) confused on the other 1 bulb for shifter light.
- 3 for auto climate control buttons
- 1 for shifter light (under climate control)

yeah, i believe the neo-wedge bulb is for the climate control - they look exactly the same as the ones on the stock unit. for the one shifter console light, it should be the first one (the wedge based bulb). You pull the stock one out and push this one in.

I would take out the stock blub and take dimensions on it - make sure that those dimensions match up with the ones on the website.

 

from what Im told it's best to remove the OEM bulb above the shifter to make sure which bulb to replace it with.

 

The #74 LED replacement will fit in the shifter light and the ignition key ring, sorry can't say for the climte control, I believe it's more of a custom fabricating regular LED's & resistors soldering job.

 

As far as replacing the bulbs in the A/C, if you buy those LED fabricated ones, I'm sure they won't even be close to being bright enough. There will be definitely hot spots and it won't distribute the light evenly. Most people who have done this mod fabricated many high mcd LED's to spread more light. As far as the light under the A/C to shine on the shifter, it's much easier to fabricate some LED's in series than replacing the bulb. Here is a pic of what I did in mine. Plenty of lighting effect at night.

 

How can fabricating be easier than replacing a bulb? The singled LED replacement brightness vs fabricated is subjective. IMO anything too bright is distracting, the single gives a very good ambient light. 2cents

 

as for the shifter light, this is your best option:





then just add a resistor, and splice into the power source for that bulb.

As for the HVAC unit, soldering a resistor to an led and making it fit is not that hard, i used 3mm LED's and was able to still use the twist base. For 5mm you need to solder them directly to the board.
