I know its simple, but I just put in a K&N filter this afternoon. Got it at Advance for 49.99. Car felt a little better driving home. I didnt notice a big change.

I also filled up on gas. Got 27 mph. Not bad. Taking a trip on Friday. I want to see how it does on the open road.

Will the K&N improve gas mileage?

Yeah, 27 mpg. Sorry for the error. Actually, tonight it was 27.7. I went 190 miles on 6.86 gallons. The sticker said 19 to 26. I guess its doing better than the rating.

 

How'd you figure you went 190 miles on 6.86 gallons? Did you fill up car, then drive 190 miles, then re-fill and see how many gallons you put in after 190 miles?

Yes. That's how I do it all the time. Fill up, reset odometer, drive for a few days, fill up again. I filled up on Tuesday because it was 7 cents off of premium at the local station.

 

K&N is supposed to help air flow easier, you wont feel a BIG difference, your engine might run a lil cooler. as for mpg? i doubt it. maybe it'll give you an extra 2mpg?

 

Also, on all highway driving I'll occassionally get 27 MPG.

 

if that mod gives you an extra 2mpg show me where to buy... it'll pay for itself in no time.
