Is the **** on the back of the actual bulb portion of the housing, or on the assembly next to the bulb towards the center?
My 10mm doesn't fit it anyways...

It's on the housing itself. It controls the angle of the shroud/reflector. It's the only white little **** on the entire headlight, you can't miss it. I've adjusted my headlights a number of times, both the halogens and OEM HIDs.

It would make sense if the **** was on the back of the bulb housing, but my white ***** are not. And why doesn't my 10mm fit, per housecor's instructions?
I think I'm in the same boat as Chuck.

HID ballast

My passenger side front headlight is out, and the mechanic says it's the problem of the ballast, which he says cost $700 including labor.

For those HID xenon headlights, How much does a ballast cost (is it really so expensive)? Where can I get a cheaper one, and can I just get one, take it to the mechanic, and say "here's the ballast, install it", and just pay for the labor?

i hope your mechanic beats some sense into you

next thing you know, he's gonna bring the Infinity G35 Sedan drivetrain with rear axles and be like: "here's the drivetrain, install it!!!"

That's because it's 8mm, not 10.

the one guy is a newbie, and cant start a new post. lay off him. this is probably the newest thread even remotely related to healights. sh|t, people that are new to hid lights, may have no clue how much the hid components cost.
wtf?!?! why does everyone have to be an a$$. what are you trying to proove, and to whom?
you are no smarter, if you can't figure out how to adjust the headlights. if the 10mm doesn't fit, try a different size.

Are you the bleeding heart rep. for the s?

Since you're the genious, here's a link you can provide for your newbie friends, since they are so seemlingly helpless: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=271819

A different size? Brilliant!
I'm not the only one who's having difficulty with it and apparently housecor's site is just as useless as your post.

I can't believe how tough this forum is on newbs. I see that AwesomeOwl got banned for two weeks for that one innocent, but I suppose only "somewhat" related post. Wow.

this is the only forum i have seen that hates newbs. what a way to attract new members by banning them! a couple hundred people are active on a daily basis, and they know when a joke is being made. a newbie may not know what's going on, and hate the attitude of some people here. some ppl here are overly aggressive.

You should - personal attacks are unwarranted...but let's leave the helpless newbie alone.

Nah, I just don't appreciate my thread being whored-up with non-productive answers.

So...back on topic....

If i manage to rotate this aiming white ****, which direction do i need to move it to be able to aim the headlights a little higher? (to cover more area in front and ahead of me).
Does it take a lot of rotating or just a slight touch is enough?

thanks!

park your car near the curb at night, amke sure there are no cars in front of you. get a wrench on the adjustment **** and turn it to either side until you are satisfied with your results...

Use the link I provided in the initial thread for housecor's how-to - that is the correct way to aim.
And follow chrono's advice.
