Car Pulling
Car Pulling
I went to get my car aligned the other day after putting on my Illumina's/H&R on. After the alignment i started to drive home and noticed the car still pulled to the right. I brought the car back and the tech tried it again. The tech said that the car's alignment numbers were in spec and couldn't figure out why its pulling..Even tried rotating tires to rule out tire/rim problems...Any ideas???
did you get it aligned at a dealership? FRom my own personal experience the local shops around where I was stationed in GA (3 or 4 of them) could not properly align the car for whatever reason. It took me months before I broke down and went to the dealership and you know what, they got it right the first time. I asked the master tech why the dealership was able to align the car and every other local shop screwed it up and he said that most shops don't update or calibrate their machines as often as they should leaving those with newer model cars screwed when it comes to alignment. If a reputable nissan dealership can't do it right, I am not sure a local shop could.
Yeah I think I have the same problem...I seem to have to hold the steering wheel on a slant or else it would pull to the right. But everytime I get it re-aligned, I still have to hold the wheel on a slant.
What should I do? Take the car to the Nissan dealership?

Same is true with most manufacturers. You can can't adjust camber with alot of cars either.
What some places do is take the bottom strut bolt hole and drill them out wider to allow the steering knuckle to sit in the strut at a different angle
This extra procedure usually has an additional charge on top of the alignment charge Also you have to find a shop willing to take the extra time to go "above and beyond"
my car still pulls after i got it aligned. feels like im driving while its windy when its not sometimes. Im kicking myself for wasting 60 bucks at the crappy shop i took mine too. Im thinking about taking it to firestone and getting the lifetime alignment when i put my springs on this saturday.
