Hi All,
I'm a newbie and new owner of an 02 SE with navi. I was directed to this thread from the 5th gen forum and, frankly, I just plain don't have the time to sift through this monster. So I'm about to place my ignorance on display for all to see and critique.
I don't have the slightest idea what version my nav unit is or what I need to make it go. The car came with a disc from its original owner and the nav unit works great in Cali and Las Vegas. However, I'm in Colorado Springs. All I need to know is what disc(s) I need and where to get it (them). Can anyone provide a succinct answer to those two questions? IS THERE a succinct answer?
thx!

If I understand this right, according to post #606, I can download the disc #9 I need for for 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, but the system might have trouble reading it if I don't have the 5.5 upgrade disc?
I had the IL version in the car but I gave the car to my son in FL so he needs the SE version disc 9. I'm not as concerned with the most up to date disc as I am with the correct area.
Thaks a bunch!

I've downloaded the files but can't burn it to cd. My computer says it doesn't recognize the file type. My computer is only a couple months old and running Windows 7. What do I need to burn this file? Thanks for the help!
#613
No MAC
FYI guys I've tried this on mac.......I think you have to have a pc....when i tried mca1 v5.5 from boosted its a .nrg file format which is a nero(Pc only) format. Does anyone have the iso disc file uploaded anywhere? I've burned 3 faulty discs but I quit, my computer knowledge only got me so far
#617
Ok here's the link to the 5.5 installer.....I need someone to help me out with the MCA1 5.5 iso though. I can't work with the .nrg unless I'm just doing it wrong. Here's the link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UWNXV3HY

Thanks 6spd! Downloaded and installed! This is an Infiniti version but install went great. Only question is whether it is really the 5.5 version? The file number was lower than my current Nissan file number when the nav system started the install. It asked which version I wanted to install and showed my current version. I don't know. Anyway, I still can't get the region 9 to run in the nav system. I burned it 3 different ways and none will work. The installer file was an "image" file and I burned an "image" to disc using Roxio. The region 9 file says it is a "ufi" file. Takes me 5 min to download and it won't burn as an image. Burned as data file, etc. but the nav sys always says it is not recognized. Oh, and the start up screen is of the Infiniti symbol. Kind of cool.

Maybe it isn't 5.5......I just checked everything. I have this install disc and the 5.5 MCA5 map disc. My bad it may be the older copy now that I think of it. It works with the 5.5 disc I have though? The problem is m in CA but my cars from ILLinois

Can anyone convert the MCA9 version5.5 file to a different format? I have downloaded MagicISO but only the paid for version will burn the file because it is so big. I don't want to purchase it just for this one download. Anyone??
#623
Here's v5.4 of Region 1. I can't help with the 5.5 one.
#624
Why don't you just post it? If everyone tried to get something in return, nothing would be posted to date.
Here is v5.5 of Region 8.

Kyoon-thanks for the region 9 iso. Took about a halfhour to download and burn, but it works great. I was hoping it would show my road but doesn't. Been here for 30 years or so, but not important I guess. Still has more updates than my previous one!

Just wanted to let everyone know I found someone to upload MCA2 and MCA6 but unfortunately he only uploaded the CDROM.DAT that was on the nav discs instead of ripping the whole cd. If anyone knows of a way to get these working feel free to help yourselves to the files.
MCA2 v5.5 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E6OY9U3F
MCA6 v5.5 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JJRRLHW0
I have tried burning them as data cds with the CDROM.DAT placed in the root directory but the navigation system doesn't accept it. My hopes were that there is a way to rip the hidden information from one of the other discs and use it in conjunction with these.
Anyway I am still trying to see if the person that uploaded these for me will try making rips in iso form instead. If he does I will gladly post the urls here as well.
EDIT: Just wanted to point out that CDROM.DAT is the majority of the information, I think the hidden tracks that we need are just to prevent copying cds although most cd rippers can pull it if you rip the cd instead of pulling just the data file.
