took my moms car to the dealership today..

well i my moms i35 has had a SES light for about 2 months now and finally i took the initiative to take it to get it checked. Car has 73000k on it. They told me some things like i wouldnt need to change the plugs until 105k miles. I said i thought it was 60k and he said that was for the i30. So i said ok. He said we can run a 60k check for ya and that would include changing all fluids, filters, blah blah blah withouth doing plugs. (btw he said the plugs would cost me 299$..yeh..)
So anyway he i told him to chagne all the fluids and the incabin filter w/ the the code check and it came to like 440 somthin. He said hed call me back to see y the light came on and he said the following...
2 bad rear 02 sensors-$771.06
Brake sensor- 139.65 (he said it lets u able to shift the car while while ur foots on the brake at park n if i didnt change it, i wouldnt be able to change gears after a while)
Belts A/c and Timing-150 (i think he said)And he said my belts needed changing.

So this grand total came out to be 1510.56 b4 tax.
holySh*t i thought, i could have done this for half the price myself. But the great thing is the car is under my dads business and i called him and told me that he would get it all back at the end of the year. So i told them to go ahead and do it.

Things that stood out to me where the price for the plugs and to do them, 02 sensors, and all the flushes. Just felt like sharing. All comments are welcome.

PS- Oh and my title meant to say Stealership

That sucks the 02's are not a hard fix and the vq35 does not have timing belts, they have timing chains. Most likely the drive belt and accesory power steering belt. If your dad can write the expenses off on his taxes then it's all gravy but this is a serious grab your ankles when you walk in to door, no-lube sandpaper condom raping for sure .

Big time. If you are going to get reimbursed then might as well have it fixed by someone else (as long as they are trust worthy, but then again after hearing some of the horror stories on the .org about mechanics and what not who knows...)

That's why I do most of my stuff on my own. Sure, it can be labor intensive, but it's definitly worth the hundreds of dollars saved.
