4th Gen - Upgrade Pending

I'm looking to buy by first 5th Gen Max, an upgrade from my 2 4th gen maxs.

I heard from a guy at Enterprise Rent A Car that the 5th & 6th gens are a hit, & 5th is a miss...

I can't imagine why, do any of you guys have any problems with your cars that the 4th gen guys do not have?

Thanks.

The 5th & 6th gens are a hit but the 5th is a miss???? that makes no sense

Thats why I am asking here, I haven't so much as driven a 5th gen, I will test drive 3 in the next hour though.

I didn't give him any credit based on the fact he works at Enterprise by the way, I just thought I would see what everybody else had to say.

So 5th gen great cars? I love my 4th gen & I'm sure I'll love my new 5 gen too.

Get a 5.5 gen 6-speed if your pockets can afford it. You won't be sorry unless it's a lemon.

I have owned a 2000 SE and now own a 2003 SE ME TE, both of which were outstanding cars. I have had virtually no problems with either of mine, other than an MAF replacement on the 2000. Keep the oil changed and it will run forever.

If you can afford it, go with the 5.5, since it comes with the 3.5L V6, which is a great power upgrade, from the 3.0L V6 in the 5th gen. I ran the 2000 Max up to 132K miles before I sold it and upgraded to the 5.5. I plan on keeping the 5.5 for many years to come. Once I pay it off I will be looking at 350Zs.

We're pretty exclusive here. Just bypass the 5 & 5.5 gens and go straight to a 6th gen.

Good. I picked my new 5th gen up last night. Its great, it looks like every little thing that I hated about my 4th gen was fixed in the 5th.

I don't love the wheels...
