Grilles are different but the mounting points/shape on the top should be the same. I believe the design will work for a 5.5 gen too.

the only way i know of that they are different is that he 5.5 is a seperate piece from the bumper, and the 5th is attached to the bumper, but i wasnt sure if mounting or more specifically, the height of the grill in relation to the radiator cross member was the same. i assume Nilesh and Chris know this more than i do tho, and it will be the same for both.

Think of it this way, Casey. You can put a 5.5 bumper on a 5.0 gen and vice versa. They bumper themselves are differently shaped, however the places which they mount (the rad support) are the same.

Casey would you be willing to come down sometime to see if does fit a 5.5?

maybe, thats quite a ride, haha. of course, we could always meet up halfway if thats good with you. what nilesh said makes sense, since the bumpers are interchangeable, but i know you want to be 110% sure before you sell a product. when did you have in mind?

Halfway is great!!!! I was thinking around July 8th, ozzombie13 and I will be heading to west orange NJ for a meet there, we could meet up on the way. We will have a few parts with us to debut the sale so there will be a few to choose from. I agree with Nilesh since the bumpers are interchangeable, contact points will be the same. and the part was designed to be flexible so it should conform to fit.

I think it'd look better if the front of the shroud had the same lines as the top of the grill. I hope that'll change w/ the final product.

july 8th could be good, depending on the time. west orange isnt too far, maybe 35-40 minutes away or so, with traffic, so i could probably meet ya there, but i have a BBQ to go to that day, so itll have to be afterwards.

are you going july 8th specifically, or around that date?

I'm interested to see the final production piece!

Oh, and on a side note: the element carbon is black and black only. Silver carbon is a oxymoron, the proper name is silver texalium (its a aluminum twill woven into fiberglass)

Strictly cosmetic. There's a big gaping hole between the bumper and the rad support. This fills it.

Its suppose to funnel more air towards the radiator while visually enhancing the look of the engine bay. (nothing that you would notice perforamance wise). I think it would look quite nice if the final production piece wasn't so wavey, more flat with better lines. I'm worried about the resin turning yellow due to high under hood temperatures also

.

We'll see, since it is not exposed to the sun or real high temp it shouldn't yellow. ( yellowing indicates a break down in the resin due to UV light. we've included a uv coat just in case you show alot. to address the wavy issue: no way around that ( believe me we tried,)it follows the curve underneath the hood, if it did not do this, the hood does not shut.

I meant wavey as in the way the piece looks (like a cloth draped over a piece) versus a layed up piece of carbon fiber or fiberglass from a mold. I understand the way it has to conform in order for the hood to clear.

Examples:
http://www.sp-power.com/catalog/imag...PLATE%2001.jpg
http://www.eracings.com/catalog/imag...iatorcover.jpg

It conforms to the car but has a "flat" surface

This would look real nice with my carbon fiber engine cover, if it fits on a 5.5 gen.

that engin bay pick looks almost exactly like the 5 gen in the front so hopefully it fits just fine, we may need to trim it a little differently for the final part but we do have that option.

thanks for all the positive feedback

I've seen Irish's 5th gen several hundred times and compaired it to my 5.5 gen. They're the same in that area. It should be universal for all 5th gens.
