ok so last night i was driving my 2k2 6 spd a little harder than usual and on my second to third upshift i accidentally threw it into first and my tach went past 8000 for like a split second and today my car runs fine but seems louder than usual wtf did i do???

 

Possibly blew some carbon out of the exhaust system, or a little of the packing out of the muffler.

 

i just took it for a ride w/ my dad and he said the noise sounds like it is coming from the transmission but is nothing out of the ordinary and suggested that i go get my fluid checked at the dealership

 

So nobody thinks i seriously messed up my motor and tranny or is that still a possibility???

 

Don't worry about it.

You overrevved once. no biggie. if you're engine was damaged, your car would not run anymore. I overreved once too just like that, except at 7500rpm.

if your car runs fine, then you're ok.

i think because of my overrving my coilpacks are shot. because they act wierd once in a while.

 

when you overrev, your car sounds like an F1 car for a split second. pretty interesting.

I don't worry about that incident of overrving because with the TechnoSquare ECU, they make your redline/fuel cut past 7000rpms (i think, please dont kill me).
