17* ingnition timing
17* ingnition timing
forgive me for being a novice, but another member was telling me to have my ignition timing changed to 17*....what exactly does this do? and is it worth doing this? are there any disadvantages??
advanced timing means the spark occurs 17 deg. before top dead center (tdc). Stock timing on the 00-01 is 15 btdc and 17 btdc on the 02-03.
Benefits: more power, better gas mileage - however, you MUST use 93 octance, if you don't already do so.
You need the consult tool to do this - you can probably go to a nissan tech slip him some cash and have him follow this procedure to advance your timing.
