Oxygen Sensor replacement for dummies

Hi,

I need to replace the oxygen sensor with the white harness. I understand how to get it out of the cat. But how do I remove the wire harness? Also, is there a trick to removing the plastic clips that are used to route the wire underneath the car.

Thanks

Recently replaced the rear Bank 1 sensor on a Cali Spec Maxima. Only thing that caused a little headache was reinstalling the clips in the brackets. No trick just press one end and pull from opposite end. See this PDF file
for help.

The wire harness unclips from the front of the engine bay. As for the plastic clips, I removed em using needle nose pliers and didn't reinstall them; I just ziptied the wiring using the brackets where the clips used to be so if I ever have to replace the O2, I'll just cut the zipties instead of worrying about the clips.

Just cut out the plastic clips when removing the old sensor...

Doesn't the new sensor come with those clips anyways?

To remove the harness, squeeze the tabs on the electrical connector near the engine bay and pull it out. As for the clips, I actually found them to be the biggest PIA of the whole job by far. Assuming you have new clips supplied with your new sensor, use a pair of needle-nose pliers and just start reefing on those suckers. Still wasn't that easy IMO, especially the ones in the tight locations. I can't imagine trying to take all those clips out if you actually have to reuse them.
