Lately there has been a loud screeching noise coming from our 5th gen.
My wife says that it stops when you turn off the A/C. I have only heard it once but that was when my wife was driving away.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!!!

Have you checked your drive belts?

 

I thought they could be the drive belts - should I spray it down with WD-40?

Don't spray your belts with anything! Check their condition and replace them if needed. If they look in decent shape, then you may just have to re-tension them. It is most likely the larger alternator belt. Also check the tensioner pulley.
