Gas stuff

alright so i fill up the gas tank the first time.. 15 gallons.. what i expected. i fill it up the second time... 16 gallons... ok, so i had a gallon in there last time... i fill it up the third time.. 18.9 gallons... wth is the actual volume of the tank??

also, what kinds of numbers do you guys get with 87 vs 93 octane?

87 i got about 24mpg
93 i got about 25mpg

only tested with one tank for each octane so far

im talkin the 3.0l btw

your gas station is ripping you off. go to another gas station.

also, no more gas mileage threads - they're getting really redundant.

Now you need to figure out the cost difference between 87 & 93 and see that 1 mpg is not worth it.

And here is California we no longer have 93, we have 91 so I'm sure it would be even less of a difference for us. and at $3.65 per gal. 91 octane =

1mpg is worth it, 18 gallons at 1mpg is 18 miles, the difference in price between 87 and 93 is about .15 cents, so 18 x .15 is $2.70 which is cheaper than the price of a gallon of 87 for which i would get 24 miles

just confused myself, i think its pretty close to even..

i only did 1 test though, so not sure about the mpg difference, 2mpg more with 93 would be worth it, guess i'll find out
