Whatsup fellas...i have a 95 gle, but im posting here to try to get some feedback.

Long story short. Got a misfire code for cylinder 4. checked spark plugs...fine. checked injector. dead. So the other day i replaced it.

still misfiring. 2 hours later started it up again...no misfire.

then yesterday, saturday, misfired all day.

today, drove it at liek 5pm, misfired. three hours later, drove it again...no misfire.

what the hell is up? does anyone have any idea what could cause an intermittent misfire like that?

 

Sounds like it could be the ignition coil for that cylinder. When they go they usualy die a slow death and cause intermitent misfire codes. That year car also has the wires going to the coils stretched tight around the back of the motor. They will rub bare and cause symptoms of bad coils. Follow the wires from the #4 coil back and see what they look like. If they're fine, swap the coil to another cylinder and see if you get a misfire on that cylinder.

Could also be the wires going to the injector you replaced. The injector may have been OK and the wires bad. Did you check for corosion inside the clip? Unpluging and pluging may have cleaned it up enough to work a little but come and go.

Try swapping the injector to one cylinder and the coil to another. If you get a misfire on a different cylinder you'll know which part is bad. If you still get a misfire on the #4 then you probably have a problem with the wiring to the coil or injector.

I had a similar problem, it ended up being a coil pack that looked like it was snapping down all the way but it was not and it would get loose and misfire...

I pushed down on it like hell and it finally snapped in and it is fine now.

its definitely one or several ignition coils misfiring, if you bring the car to the dealer they might wanna rape you and have you change all of them, their about 107$ for the front ones and 117$for rear ignition coils, im talking in canadian currency, ill let make the math. if you got a ODBII comp try connecting it and check if tell you the code P01754 or P1320 but i doubt you can know wich one is broken, if you go to the dealer tell them you want to know wich one is done, cylindre 1 , 2, ,3 ,4 ,5 or 6

 

Yes you can tell which one is broken. Usually when the coil is bad you will get 2 codes, 1 code says that you keep having multiple cylinders misfire (most likely initiated by 1 bad cylinder) and a 2nd code which says that a particular cylinder sucks big time. Thats the cylinder you replace the ingition coil for. It should get rid of both codes.
