I need stock exhaust pics

Well... I'm pretty confused right now. I'm trying to figure out what to do about an exhaust leak that I have at the flange just before the exhaust goes over the rear axle. I'm confused because my exhaust has a flange before the axle... and also after the axle. I thought this was normal, but the dealership says that the stock muffler pipe is what goes over the rear axle... but it looks like budget's design has the bpipe going over the rear axle. Basically... I'm really confused and don't know what I need to replace to get this leak fixed. Any pics you can offer of stock exhausts would greatly help.

Is the leak coming from the flange connection or is the pipe/weld cracked at that area?

Actually... it's hard to tell.. because we were just using our hands.... and it's a hole somewhere at the top. I believe it's a hole around the weld where the flange and pipe comes together. Basically... for some reason it seems like my car has an extra flange lol. I'm going to try to get my car on a lift tonight... and take some pics because Cattman wants to see what I'm talking about. I'll try to post some pics here as well... but until then I'd still like to see what your guys' looks like.

Depending on what you have to replace, I'd go ahead and replace the B-pipe while your under there and spending the money.

Ok... here is where I was talking about the leak. The extra flange that I was talking about doesn't really exist... I'm just a dumbass. I just remembered something being there... turns out it was just a clamp.

I'm thinking since it's basically on the flange, I'm just going to have the exhaust guy cut both flanges off, and either weld a new connecting piece, or make a sleeve of sorts. He's also going to fix the sh*t job of putting the muffler on that the other guy did. It leaks outta there too... I just never noticed it. That's what I get for paying someone to do it for $20 on the side.

I considered having him bend me a new catback... and he said he'd do that... But I don't want to pay for that right now.

Is that a OEM muffler? Looks like a pretty bad replacement job, no wonder it leaks.

Get a whole new muffler and install it yourself. It's not really that hard, except that the back end of the car has to be at least 2 feet off the ground (sounds scary, but it's possble) because of Nissan's crappy design of the pipe being routed thru the rear axle beam. That clamp job looks horrible! How long did you think that was that going to last? It's a terrble seal. Plus, it's common on our 5th gener's rusting at the flanges near the muffler causing leaks. Many has just welded the pipes together where the flanges meet, and many has replaced the muffler on their own, like myself. If I were you, I would either weld a new seal where the clamp and flanges are, or just replace the whole muffler.

That's what I'm doing. It's pretty stupid... I had that muffler put on a year ago... and it never sounded like it leaked, so I never thought to look at it. That tought me a lesson. The same guy that put that muffler on my car also put one on my g/f's jeep... so now I need to check out what kinda **** job he did on that. I'm going to just get this fixed for now... then in the long run i'll probably buy Cattman's catback system. Especially if he has another Xmas clearance sale.

Glad to hear that. I hope everything works out for ya! Good Luck! (Yeah, don't pay that guy any more money to work on your car. He's getting overpaid! )

you cant just change the exhaust, the peice of tubing that goes with it, it cost around 500$cdn from the dealer. best thing tell someone to cut it, put a piece of tubing and weld it

Huh??? I'm not sure what you mean by this, but the muffler can be swapped out since the pipe is already welded on the muffler with a whole new flange and everything, if he chose to go this route. Plus, if you read my previous posts, I think I already mentioned his possible options of welding new pipes on for better seals.
