2k-2k1 OEM headlights vs JDM projector headlight pics...?

Does anyone know of any comparison pictures of the light output of the JDM eBay projector headlights for the 5th gen Maximas against the OEM headlights? Im reading the other posts about how bad they are, the projectors, but just wanted to see for myself how bad they are, or atleast compared to the stock headlights. Is it the projector lens thats the problem?

I'll save you the trouble of searching:

The light output of the "JDM " projectors is GARBAGE, and far less than the OEM headlights.

The problem is the H3 bulbs that they use....those are what we use in our FOG LIGHTS

that, and damn are they UGLY!

So what? They are H3, H3 are for smaller less output applications. No matter how you look at it they suck @ss. BTW dont use the acronym JDM unless you want to be flamed. People on the .Org hate it.

unless, of course, the part is actually "Japan Domestic Market"...then it is ok. These projectors are not sold on any Japanese Maximas/Cefiros/etc....therefore, they are not JDM.

Another contributing factor beside the H3 bulb is the projector bowl. Either it was poorly designed or it was designed without knowing what kind of bulb was to be used.

the projectors was made for ricers since they are all the craze. they are made for the looks. no effort was put in to making them do what they are supposed to do...PROVIDE LIGHT

2MuchMax4U posted pics awhile back but they were not comparision pics. I'm not sure if he still has the projectors or if he retrofitted them with better projectors.

I would agree wit hthe retrofit comment. You can do it fairly easy with as many writeups as there are. Check out Dr. Roy's cardomain page for a writeup or HIDPlanet

All the comparison pics you could want.

If you buy them make sure you have money for a HID swap, put them in and I think they look pretty good. But as they are, they pretty much do suck.

the ballast can be used on any car to make HIDs. its the main and most expensive part

and on a side note, why did you make both HID and maxima possesive?? its HIDs and maximas
