[QUOTE=irish44j]it's possible...but then again I have 105K miles on the car....My Honda and Acura were both on their 3rd CV joint replacements by 100K miles....they're wear items, and most cars CV joints will go bad eventually, especially on heavy, high-powered FWD cars...

But Honda and Acura are not high-powered so they don't really have an excuse do they? haha

Actually all of Honda engines have more power than Nissan engines if you look at comparable 4 and 6 cylinders. I dunno why everyone has to hate on Hondas, is it cause its jealousy that their cars are supperior to anything Nissan has to offer now ?

Honda axles suck in general.... older Nissans where not any better.

Alert, someone hacked Black's profile! Or else someone brainwashed him into a Honda evil-doer.

Nahh I just work for Honda/Acura.... once you compare both car brands its eassy to see who makes better cars. Bashing of Honda here does no good.... its Toyota you wanna bash- they are the ones who make borring cars that are NOT reliable.

I pretty much have 2 of each of spare parts laying around... car has 160K miles on it- never know what will go bad.

Like my clutch line that burst last weekend.... and the Group Buy SSteel one not fitting at all.... Thank god Nissan had me hooked up and I was rolln, the SSteel one is too long, and doesn't fit anything but maybe a 87 Dodge Omni.

GL-4 is hard to get, but NAPA carries it in some generic name. I have used the stuff in a pinch, but its much thicker than MT-90, and obviouly thicker than MTL or Amsoil MTF.
When I got my 01 tranny and LSD axle I was supprised to find the 32mm axle nut. I have done many Nissan axles, and the norm has been bolt patterns with 114.3mm centers are 36mm and 100mm are 32mm. Its interesting that Nissan decided to use the 32mm on a bigger car. I just reused my original 36mm nut. BTW Napa and most auto parts stores carry the 36mm socket.

Just received and installed a Raxles passenger-side axle as well. Same great quality. getting the axle support bearing off the car/old axle is a b1tch for sure!

If they use brand new axles not remaned ones then why do they take the core of the old one as that is why most places take them back to reman?

I agree - Raxles is the best. It might even work out as your cheapest and quickest option for a replacement (Like on the 20th ann edition trannies with VLSD).

GLE03Max - I believe they reuse/reman some parts, like the shaft, and maybe the inner joint housing??, but everything else is new. A lot better than the reman that you'd get at autozone

They re-use the housings and the hard driveaxle parts, but the CV joints themselves are new, not shaved like Autozone or Pep boys axles are.....

I see, I didnt even think of that. Do they actually claim to hold more power or is it just something people say that they think they hold up better?

I have a friend running these on a 360 or so HP Eclipse. They are still great after 2 very hard years. I think that says something about the quality.
