P1320 Primary

Had a buddy at my local Infinity dealership scan the car for me, and that is the code that was pulled. He had never seen that code personally. I went on with my day and he called me a little later after having talked to a couple other techs and told me that they all said not to worry about it untill the car started really acting up and jerking everywhere because if it said "Primary" that it is usually the ignition harness, which is an $1800 part (from them I am assuming). Is there any truth to this? Anyone have this issue before and solve it other than the wiring harness?

I am thinking that the car has 136Kish on it and for all that I know it's on stock plugs, I've had it for about 50/60K of those miles and never changed them. Maybe that will be the problem, or atleast part of it.

This is not a code pulled with an OBDII Scanner, it was pulled with a Consultant II, the code is for whatever the primary part is for the ignition system, not any one coil. If it was a coil it would have told me what coil it was.

the ignition coils contain part of the primary circuit. not just the wiring harness. furthermore, the coil is the wear item in teh circuit.

read the threads. its the same code regardless of what pulled it.

I know the codes are the same, I was just under the impression that the Consultant II would tell me for sure if it was a coil and if so which one it was from reading all the other threads and everyone always telling people to get their car scanned with a Consultant II and not just a OBDII Scanner.

its consult-II

and unless its accompanied by a p030x, itll require some further diagnosis to isolate a cylinder.
