2000 - Battery help ...
Unfortunately I had to let my 2000 SE sit in the garage for about 8 weeks, for I was away ... anyhow, the car wouldn't start after I got back, due to the battery not having enough juice. I heard it draining to nothing on my initial start. I got a jump, and ran the car for some time. My question is, how many amps is the battery rated for? I mean I have a charger, which has 2, 10 and 25 amp settings. What do I need to set it at? Plus it's got battery type as well, WET, GEL and AGM, which one of those would I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated, or point me in the right direction. Thanks much!
I would look up the type of battery. If I remember reading correctly a while back, setting the charger on 2A will trickle charge it (great for storage conditions). More amps should charge it faster, but if you leave it charging too long, no more battery.
I'd either call the mfg of the battery or call a local auto parts store, like AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts.
