Car Cover Question

Does a car cover do an effective job of keeping the car cooler in direct sunlight?

I am moving to a different office where we will no longer have a parking garage and there will be no covered parking. I have dark tint but I am dreading getting into my car after a day of Texas heat beating down on it.

Also how quickly can you get one on and off?

Is the Nissan branded on a good one or are there better products out there to purchase.

Good idea, probably more of a PIA than it's worth. I guess the cover would help keep the car cooler. Should be easy on/off just stuff it in the trunk an go. You'll have to find some way to secure it so the wind doesn't send it flying down the parking lot on a windy day. You can pick up a good one at any autozone. Got a dark car with a black interior, I know how you feel, what was I thinking.

I picked up a Nissan cover for that reason at my dealer for a little over a hundred $. You could probably find better ones, but it does the job for me. This cover has pockets for the side mirrors and because of this, it won't blow off on a windy day. It is light weight and is tricky to get off on a breezy day, especially after I've waxed it. I think it keeps the car a little cooler on hot days and it definitely keeps contaminants and dust off the car. Good investment IMO even tho it's kind of a PITA. I don't use it if it is supposed to rain. Just my .02

You need to keep your car constantly cleaned. Dirt/sand will be an abrasive especially on windy days when the cover will move around.

Bought one from walmart for $35 (it was the middle-quality one)...

takes about 30-45 seconds to put it on, and about 10-20 to take it off.

Definitely should keep your car clean whenever you want to use it (especially on windy days)
