Anyone know exactly what a Fuel temp sensor does? I know it sounds pretty self explanitory but what im asking is does it affect anything. Reason I ask is I got a code for this and havent bothered fixing it any consequences????? Thanks in advance.

 

The fuel tank temperature sensor is used to detect the fuel temperature
inside the fuel tank. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive
to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor
decreases as temperature increases. The ECM uses this to help determine the mixture.
