03 to a 01 SWAP?

Guys i have an issue and i was wondering if i could get some help.
I have a 2003 maxima and i want to put on the 2001 AE kit on from nissan.
People have told me in order to do that, i have to change the front bumper and the fog lights and then everything else should fall in place. So thats what i thought until i went to a body shop today and the owner told me that i would also have to change the headlights to the basic 00/01 lamps. Is this really true that i have to change the headlights because swaping headlights is not an option.

Has anyone done this swap before or know of someone who did this.
Im getting the bumper, grill and fog lights on a trade with someone else so i will only have to pay for the AE kit and Painting it.

Many people wonder why i want to do this swap, its just that i like the kit and i prefer the AE kit than those aftermarket kits out there.

You can keep ur headlights. Someone swapped there 03 bumper for an 00 bumper because he wanted to get the stillen aero lip (at the time, the 02/03 did not have the stillen classic or MT lip available). good luck and have fun.

But will the 01/bumper and the 03/headlights fit fine. Will there be any big space when installed or any mods have to be done.

The 03 headlights should fit fine.

I guess it's too late to talk you out of it, but why go through all that trouble just for the AE kit? It's not that great to begin with IMO.

Think about it; People swap in 02-03 HIDs into their 00-01's without replacing bumpers.

to the original poster...why not just get the stillen classic lip. its looks almost identical and would be a lot easier

Seems like a lot of work and a lot more expense rather than just buying a kit designed for your '02. I'm sure that the look of the AE kit is what's behind the idea, but it just really isn't worth all the extra work involved. You'd still have to get a ton of parts painted as well.

just get everything but the front lip and get the stillen lip. Way easier and the 02-03 grill is way better looking. If I did it all over again I would have gotten the 02-03 bumper on my 00 instead of the stillen bumper. But I also like my stillen bumper.

The stock 02-03 bumpers look much better IMO. Usually people do 00 to 02 bumper conversions, not the other way around.

From '03 to AE, you will need to remove your stock side skirts as well... Rear will fit without probs, and the front, well, the guys gave you the idea... BTW, new AE kits are discontinued and last time I checked there were 1-2 left in NA...

don't the AE kit's side skirt look like the stock 02-03 side skirts?

The AE sideskirts are composed of 2 pieces, or at least have a slit down the center of them.

AEs are two piece sides with a crack between the doors and they flare outwards (like / ) on a car whereas the 02-03 sides have more inwards look (like \ )... Hope I explained it right
