Cheap gas sound

I got a 03 maxima and i only put premium gas in it, but for some reason im getting that sound like if im putting that cheap stuff in it.

I had the car for about 5 months and i never used cheap stuff and once in a while i put gas treatments and fuel injections cleaners, but its once in a while.

That sound is really getting me on my nerve.
What could it be.

that sound ur hearin is a sound
the sound is most likely a result of a sound
so the sound will most likely sound like a sound caused by a sound

drugs?

anyway, is the sound you're hearing like a ping or a knock? If you're putting 91 or 93 octane gas in your car, that's not the problem...when do you hear the sound? under load?

u must b on drugs if u didnt get my sarcasm

the "sound" could be caused by
1. bad knock sensor
2. bad engine mounts
3. loose heat shield for all the hell that sh!tty description tells

haha, the funny thing is that I was being sarcastic with you

I agree, though...it's sort of hard to diagnose anything if the description is that vague, which is why I asked him all those questions...

The sound is only happening when i hit the gas. I had a 97 max before i got my 03 max and i heard the same sound when i put anying under 91 in my 97 max.
Im pretty sure u guys no the difference when u put 93 or 87 octane. I makes the car sound like s**t.
I have never use anything under 93 on my 03 max so i dont understand why its making that sound.

OK, if you really want help, don't use "sound", "that sound", or "the sound" any more as a form of description. An adjective would really help us out. We can all say what we think but will be wasting our time for lack of a base reference.

It's likely engine knock if you hear a bubbly noise.

We can not help you unless you give us a detailed description of what you hear. Does it sound like something is rattling at a frequency of your engine RPM?

So there's not a good reason for a new thread. Threads merged.

The sound is like a light rattle, or best described as a "ping". Is it more likely to happen when it is warm outside? Does it happen btw 1800-2500 rpm? Welcome to the world of VQ35 pinging. It is normal, and annoying. Some have tried the oil catch can (scroll through the threads) with good results.

ok, when you hear this mystery sound, does it happen more so if the engine is warmed up or cold. Under heavy or light acceleration, or a combo of the two.

Maybe a VQ30 owner can answer your question. Big difference btw the 3 and 3.5.

it doesnt matter if the cae is worm or cold. And it not a pining or rattling noise. Its sounds like it air or some type of liquid. Dont know what the previous owner put in the car. it dosent even matter inf i fill the car with gas or put half a tank. Same even if theres little gas, same old sound.

DTC 1320 and 0300

I have a 2000 Maxima 5 spd. The car is misfiring between 1k and 2k rpms and i am getting the knocking and or pinging also I look under the car and the front cat right under the engine is fire red inside. The scan tool is giving me DTC codes 1320 and 0300. I have replaced all coils and spark plugs, EGR valve, and tested all the cam and crank sensors, and the MAF is also good, and i still have the same problem. Can anyone help me or has anyone seen a problem like this before???????

streetz look around in the all motor forum: http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=79

pretty much the only thing you can do is write 15 useful posts around the forum (don't make them useless or else you'll get banned.) so that you can make your own thread or look here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=487272
post the same question there and it'll get answered better, because not many people enjoy others hijacking their threads...
