Alternator replacement write-up?

I've searched through the FAQ, and even used the google search, but I can't find instructions on how to replace the alternator. I'm not sure how long to plan to replace it (local shop wants $115 labor - so 1.25-1.5 hours). I have a 2001 automatic. Is there a good place online to find a high-output alternator as well?

Where is the best place to buy a new alternator? Can I use an alternator off a 5.5gen?

Thanks.

Ok, found a local place that rebuilds them. They said that they only reuse the case, and replace all the internals. $130. Total to remove, rebuild and replace is $250 out the door. They will do it all this afternoon too.

I added this so if anyone searches in the future they'll know about other options.
