Have you talked to Don (Pearl96max)? He's local to you and IIRC he's done HID jobs in the past.

I doubt very much if the datadots can be removed. They are microscopic in size and are sprayed onto the housing and become part of it. Anyway, why would ANYONE want to remove datadots. They identify the HIDs with the VIN, which can be tracked to the owner of the Max. A datadotted HID has little or no value in the black market because no self-respecting buyer/dealer will buy stolen property.

Huh, all data dots are is special brackets nissan put on the lights to make it more difficult to steal. They put special serial numbers on the lights that match the vin on that car. They put stickers on the side of each light and stickers on the front pass. and driver windows.......I think he's asking how to remove the lights now that the special anti theft bracket is in place

wow thats the most ricer thing i've heard in a long time.

so you mean to say that "data dots" are microscopic microchips that are sprayed onto the headlight?

Learn what data dots are before you say someones reply about what they are is ricer-ish. Data dots are almost exactly what Kenny said they are.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery

You are correct here, but what he is asking is how to remove the lights after the steel brackets are installed. This was part of the recall that Nissan did along with the application of the Data Dots. They anchored the housings to the frame of the car and relocated the ballasts. It's no longer just a simple task to unscrew the lights from the car to mod the headlights in any way.

Anyone have a picture of what the Datadots look like? I don't think I've ever seen them and I'm just curious.

They are 1mm in size. Good luck in finding them on your headlights (if your car has them)
