hi-flow catalytic converter
does anyone have an aftermarket catalytic converter to their nissan maxima? will a catalytic converter add more noise to your exhaust system. Is the sound a loud or not loud at all. does the converter give any performance gains. what brands make good catalytic coverters? magnaflow is the only name i know.

waste of money unless your stock cat is bad....
no HP gains with a stock engine, won't change "noise" much, if at all. Spend the money on a b-pipe if you want a few horses and a bit more rumble. I suggest the Cattman b-pipe.

y-pipe + straight pipe = more noise (nice deep growl)
as far as the "hi-flow cat", they are pretty much pointless. cats have changed a lot and are not as restrictive as they used to be so a "hi-flow cat" really doesnt do anything

Yeah, we proved via dyno that a high flow cat doesn't change power output over a stock cat. BUT, any cat is better than a 'test pipe' for pollution reasons.
