one of my friends juss picked up an audi a4 2.8 auto a couple days ago...he's telln me that he can own me off the line, and im trying to hold my ground, but we cant say anything till i race him...how would i do? i have an automagic w/ no performance mods..i wanna be prepared

i think u might walk him pretty easily, they aint that fast. if hes auto, eat him harder. manual might be a good race, but hes also Front wheel drive, so i dont know about that "i can take you off the line"

You will own him. I drove a A4 2.8 auto and even an auto maxima will own one everywhere. Race his @ss and see.

The manufacturer's data for the A4 2.8 auto is 0-60 in 8.4s, and the 1/4 mile in 16.5s.

Hell, at that pace a 4-cylinder Accord 5-spd could keep up with one!

You should have NO problems whatsoever crushing your friends ego because after you race him he's going to realize that he just spent upwards of $30k on a car that can't even outrun a 4-cylinder Accord, much less a V6 one, or even a Maxima!!! bwaaahahahaha!!

...your friend does know that the redesigned 2002 A4 is right around the corner, right? It'll have a 3.0L 225HP V6 this time. It sounds like he was trying to get a good deal on the last 2k1's, though, but if not this would be more ego crushing material for after you beat him...heh heh
