moving throttle body to get to 3rd screw on VIAS?

There is absolutely no way I will be able to remove the 3rd screw, located at the bottom right of the VIAS assembly without moving the throttle body. How many screws are on the TB to move it, and where are these screws? Also, is the gasket compromised beyond re-use if I move the TB?

Thanks

AFAIK you dont need to remove the TB, just loosen it to get to that screw, and the gasket should be fine according to the HOW-TO's ive read

There is no possible way for me to remove that screw unless I used vice grips...but then the vice grips get in the way of the throttle linkage and can definitely damage them when moving around. I would rather just move the bloody throttle body out of the way and get to the screw directly.

There are 4 12mm bolts on the front of the tb, those are the only ones you need to remove

OK I got the screws off without even removing the TB. Does anyone know the bolt thread pattern that is used here? I am going to replace all the bolts, especially because the heads on 2 of them were destroyed in the process.

EDIT: They use M6 bolts. M6x1.00 thread pitchx20mm length, 10mm head

You do not need to move the TB, just move the throttle linkage up and you will be able to get directly to the screw.

I expect to get them at my local Canadian Tire today. Ill let you know if I get them there...though I don't think you guys have that store in Florida. If you really cannot find them, let me know and Ill buy and ship them to you. You will have to just pay the cost of shipping and actual screws.

yeah it's a real pain the butt. Helps if you have a friend hold the throttle up.

How was your VIAS looking? When I tried, I had all the screws but one removed.. couldn't get it - was on too tight and it was getting too stripped. I'll have to take it off eventually, but I was too pissed off to keep trying.

I got 3 of the 4 screws removed too. Then the 4th one (bottom lefT) stripped completely. I luckily was able to position a vice grips in there and remove it.

Car is a totally different animal now
