Wrapping Doors is Suede

Hey, guys I was reading metals post on redoing the interior of our cars in Suede,

i was wondering what tools or products are needed.

I picked up the grey and black suede in Peru for really cheap and gonna start when I get back.

What do you need to do to prep the surface?

I seen that metal split the doors in half, I know that there are blue plastic rivits that hold the 2 pieces together I was wondering how would you put the 2 pieces back together after its broken?

What type of UV spray did he use so it wouldnt fade.

I know only metal can answer these questions but his mainbox is always full.

I don't think the doors go back together after they have been taken apart. I could be wrong.

you have to pop the panels without breaking the plastic peices. if you do break them you have to replace it. if you work slowly using a flathead screwdriver and carefully pop them out you shouldnt break any

Break them?

If my doors were a child I'd have been incarcerated for 3 consecutive life sentences for all the torture I put mine through...but they certainley did not break.

I'll try and get to this tonight.

It seems as though your questions were answered. What other questions are remaining?

180-grit sanding followed by a rub-down with denatured alchohol to ensure the spray glue holds true.

You will need to cut all of the thermal-weld grommets along width of the door. You will NOT get the peices back together as one.

I forget the name of it, there are a number of suede UV protectors that work only minimally well. A tintjob is the ONLY thing that will truly absorb UV rays and prevent discoloration. I had done my dash twice and front doors twice...I will need to do the front doors a third time once I get the windows tinted as te sun is just too much for them.
