SES Light: Code P0138

SES light appeared so I had it diagnosed at my local AAMCO.
Mechanic reset it and so far it has not appeared again but he said it is the Heated 02 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2. I have 131 K on my 03 Maxima.

Do you think the SES light will come back on?
How urgent is it to replace the Oxygen Sensor?
How much does it go for?

Thanks,

1.) The ses light will come back on eventually. It may be another 10,000 miles, but you will probably notice a slight decrease in gas mileage.

2.)Depends on how much you want to spend on "wasted" fuel.

3.) Call autozone, Dave B., advance, etc. IIRC around $100.00-$150.00, but IIRC autozone sells a generic sensor that you can splice into your wires for around $40.00 or a OEM version (bosch, IIRC) for around $75-$80.00. Could be wrong though.. Look up the prices and see.

Thanks,
Now you can wait for your SES light to come back on, and recheck it and if the same code comes back...

Go to your local 'stealership' and have them perform bulletin ntb02-051a
which is potentially replaces both rear oxygen sensors and the important part is that ecm reprogramming which is covered for 8yrs/ 80,000 miles.

as long as your car is under 80,000 miles, you are good to go, and if they give you a hard time, call NNA @ 1800NISSAN1
