climate controll

this SUCKS!!! not only are the bulbs hard to find its also a pain to take out the whole climate control....
if you find bulbs you take out the vents and the piece around the shifter and the little cubby where the 12v plug is once all this is removed take out the whole frame that hold the radio and control once that is out remove the controls and take that apart by remove screws and tabs once thats open pop in the new bulbs and ur all set
if your gonna go this far to change bulbs you should at least upgrade to leds or something anyway hope that helps alittle bit good luck

vent you have to pull out and up you'll feel clip letting go it needs a good tug around the shifter same thing first open the cubby and the insert and unscrew the screw in side then pull up and around the shifter now look for 2 bolts behind the vents and take them out and then 2 bolts behind the shifter piece and take them out then the whole frame with the radio and climate controls comes right out

Open your change box / ash tray whatever you use it for. Take out the insert and expose the screw. Take that screw out.
Looking at the shift surround, take a Flat head screwdriver and insert it carefully between the shift surround and the console and pop it up. This would be the part of the shift surround closest to the cup holder. You'll have to move your shifter into gear to get the shift surround up and over.
Next remove the top center vent buy sticking your paws into the vents and pulling up and out. You'll have to do this kind of hard. It may sound like your breaking something but your not. It's just the clips holding it in place.
This will expose two top screws which hold the support in place. Undo both. If you look at the bottom there are two more screws. Undo both of those too. This will free the assembly.
If you look at the sides the ac vent is held in by two screws on both sides. Unscrew both and this will free the ac unit. Unclip the power to it and it's all yours to break.

To get your ac apart you'll need a really small screw driver. Something you would use to tighten glasses.
You need to remove the cold/hot adjuster thing. Pull out on it. I broke mine so be careful.
Look on the back and you'll see there are three small screws. Unscrew all three.
Next the back is clipped in place. It's a pain in the **** but unclip the top and bottom and pull out on it.
After that there is another part clipped in place do the same thing. You'll see what I'm talking about when your doing it. Be careful when you pull it out because the buttons are coming out with it.
This will expose your "grid plate?" The green board, I can't think of the name right now. Pull out as you unclip it. You will see the bulbs.
I went to Pep boys and got two packs of LED's and put them in place... they fit snuggly and I didn't have to do and soldering or try and find bulbs to replace.
Choice is yours though. I know Metal has a great write up on what he did with his. Use that for reference too if want to upgrade to LEDs.
