Gapping a sparkplug

Does anyone know if there are any tools that measure the gap without touching the actual center electro? What does everyone use to gap theirs? I have a coin style gapper, probably not the greatest gapping tool huh?

I always tend to touch the electrode with my elcheapo gapper tool. I never knew this was a problem. However I do not deform it.

it's called the gapper... and you don't need to touch the damn electrode unless it turns you on and you cannot keep your hands to yourself...

When you buy vehicle-specific plugs, they should already be pre-gapped. If you must change the gap though, use a wire feeler gauge type gapper. The tapered-coin types are crap.

That's what the "11" is for at the end of the part #... 1.1mm

.044" * 25.4mm = 1.1mm

I haven't gapped spark plugs in years. You don't have to gap the plugs in the Max
