Is there anyway you can check the cv axle is broken or not?

um...if it's broken, the car won't be going anyplace....

I assume you mean if it's going bad:
1. do you get a clicking sound when doing tight turns?
2. check to see if the rubber boots are torn

if both answers are "no"...you should be fine.
