Best Rotor and Pad combo

Next week i want to change my brakes.
I would like to get better braking distance.
I was leaning towards
Drilled and Slotted rotors + With HPS Pads.
Question: Is this combo good or is there something better.
I dont want to break my pockets

Thanks

The Hawk HPS is a good choice.....

Drilled/slotted rotors are not.

Get blanks. Period.

The Hawk pads are rated for high speeds, meaning they grab better and stop at shorter distances, but at slower speeds they're about the same as stock right?

Does Brembo make good blanks?

The Hawk HPS is the best street pad available on the market. They have excellent initial bite at slow or fast speeds, even when cold. They have little to no fade, even when really heated up. They're BETTER than stock in all respects, and completely silent (if you use blank rotors). I use them for all-season street driving and autocross as well.

Notes:
1. make sure to bed them properly. Hawk puts bedding instructions on the side of the box the pads come in
2. make sure to use anti-squeal compound on the pad shims
3. Brembo blanks are fine. Make SURE to use a large can of brake cleaner spray to get all the greasy goo off of them - they come all greased up to keep them from rusting before sale. Get ALL this crap off!!!!

I like my hawk HPS and xdrilled rotors. Got my rotors at brakepros.com and they nickel-plated them prior to shipping. looks killer behind the stock Ti edition rims and can grab better than my michelin pilots when they're warmed up. Just make sure you bed them properly like stated above. I personally think they're a little soft when cold but maybe i just need a new set as i have almost 40k on them. VERY low dust and little if any noise, largely silent.

Don't get PBR/Axxis Deluxe.

I got them from the Group Buy here, and they squeak like a pig, and there's significant dust.

They stop good, however, I think if I could do it over, I'd get the Hawk Pads.

I bought the RTP blanks and PBR Ultimate (ceramic) pads through the group deal and I'm very pleased with them. They're a huge improvement over my stock rotors and pads.

RTP Slotted/PBR Metal Masters (they have a new name now though)/SS Lines

Couldn't be happier with the outcome. I'm sure the Hawk HPS are very good, but for what I paid thru the group buy, it was a deal. Since irish44j recommended them though, I'll probably try them the next time around.

PBR/Axxis Deluse is not the same as the Metal Masters though. Love the Metal Masters.

Is it worth it get Gen 6 Calipers and Rotors, or should I just stay with Gen 5 Calipers and Rotors? In either case I am using Hawk HPS pads.

I have powerslots/hawk hps and they are sweet. Much better than stock and do not squeak at all. Make sure you bed them in properly or they will squeal. They dust as much or maybe slightly more than stock, you probably wont notice a difference at all. I know you said you don't want to spend much money but you get what you pay for so I paid a little extra for better rotors so I wont have to replace them. Our brakes are known for causing vibration anyway (warping). I have not had any vibration at all in my current set up.

I have brembo pads with oem rotors. They stop on the dime but they squeak like hell. The vehicle has been taken back to the mechanic that put them on and he adjusted something (I do not know as I didn't take it in personally) and the squeaking was a little less pronounced, but some 3,500 miles later they are squeaking once again. It's annoying to know that the brakes are squeaking and there is still meat on the pads. Does anyone have any advice of how to get rid of the problem. Could it perhaps be the plate? Thanks in advance.
