Exhaust Help

I'm trying to replace my exhaust (Cat back) and the bolts where the flange from the resonator side bolts to the Cat is stuck...rusted together. I don't have the new exhaust yet, so I can't tell how the 2 pieces bolt together. Is the stud on the resonator side and just screwed in to the Cat side or vice versa? I only have one bolt and it's on the resonator side. I'm thinking the best bet is to cut or torch it off, but I don't want to screw up the flange on the Cat side since I will need to reuse this. Can't believe how rusted out this all is, and it's only a 2K1,,,,kinda ridiculous if you ask me. Anyway, all help is appreciated.

Thanks

JD

the best thing to do, if you're going to install the exhaust, is to go to a shop, have them cut the old bolts, and just put new ones on that you can remove easily when you do the catback.

Pretty much everyone has to do that....

3 ways you have:
torch it and use regular sockets
torch it and use turbo sockets
air hammer the nut without touching the stud/rrethread the stud

worst comes to worst, cut off the nut and stud and torch the remaining of the stud in the cat and twist it out. then put a new stud into the cat
