I have a 2000 Maxima SE with a power sunroof (2 switches: auto-open and hold to tilt). For some reason the open switch, when held to open, only opens 2" at a time and stops. Then i have to take my finger off the switch and hold it again, 2" again & repeat until it's open.

The strangest part of this, is that the open switch will do the same thing as the tilt switch and the tilt switch will do the same as the open switch (it will open fully 2" at a time and it will tilt and untilt when it gets to the closed position), almost as if they've become one switch.

Anybody ever see this? I'm not certain if it is the switches themselves but I feel like it an issue with a relay or something like that.

 

Good luck... Ive reset the the system (unplug the batt)... taken the relay out, and plugged back in... purchased a new switch from nissan ($50)... and still nothing. Although, i wouldnt b discouraged, almost everyone else on the org solved their prob. by unpluggin the batt. for a while, just didnt seem to work for me. You should try it, i think the concensus was like 45 minutes or so, then hook the negative back on. G/L

 

Hold the slide close switch for three seconds and try it then. reset proceedure. Please send me $20.

 

haha... that only works for the 02-03, not the 5 gens... please refud his 20 dollars
