fender bender :(

today on the way to school, someone ran into me and cracked and dented my bumper. im thinking about having the insurance send me the money, but how much do you think a new bumper and paint job cost?

Man, that sucks! For a new bumper and paint, I'd say around $500 from a good-quality bodyshop. Definitely go through insurance; I had someone scrape my front-left fender on my last car, and it was about $600.

Edit: Then again, my last car was 10 years old when I had the repair done, so I'd say at least $500 for an 03 Max.

Just had my bumper replaced and painted on my car and it was $630. I think it was a little more due to the glacier pearl paint. Oh, and that also included a new fog light. All paid for by the insurance company of the guy who hit my car.

the reason i asked was because i had a friend who also had a fender bender and the insurance company sent him a check for $1600 and it only cost $400 to repair. the extra money he spent on new parts for his car.

this is my first accident, so should the insurance company send a check to me? or will they do everything?
