Exhaust tip

Does anyone know where I can pick up the exhaust tip that goes around the two pipes coming out the back of most GLE's/SE's? I tried searching parts list, but with no luck.

I'm looking for stock. Magnaflow doesn't even list Maxima as an option. I'm looking for the stock tip.

Yeah, when I had to swap out my muffler for a new one, I had a hard time finding the tips, too. I couldn't use my old ones because they were pretty well shot after I removed the old muffler. But, I did find some 6th gener's tips. They are 2 seperate pieces. Overall, they worked out well and look good. Here is a pic.....

Check the classifieds on here for stock exhausts for sale? I'm suprised no one wants to sell their stockers for some extra cash, i know i would if i had an aftermarket setup. money is always good .

Yea, I am thinking of the muffler/tips MIXX got now. I don't need the whole exhaust though. The stock tip that goes over the two pipes out the back just slides over the pipes with some elbow grease and a mallot.

I might be picking up a pair of new exhaust tips soon. At the moment I have stock GLE tips on not the screw on kind. Let me know if you want them and we can work something out.

Yes, however, looking at the 2001 parts list I have, the tip comes as part of the rear muffler. I don't see it listed separately, so other than a junk yard, the only way is buying the entire muffler (which he's already got).

I've had my pepboys tips for close to a year now and I don't see any rust. Still looks nice and shiny when you clean it. The tips are slanted so it goes very well with the Stillen rear lip. I believe other auto parts stores will carry the same type of tips. I just happen to get it from Pepboys.

Were those stainless steel tips.

I bought the two tips online for 16 per tip. Then the install was $20 at a local muffler shop.

I'm not about to hack a muffler up just to get the tip, but thanks. I had a coworker who somehow ordered one from CourtesyParts.com and he just took a rubber mallet to put the "oval" tip on. I'll just look into getting a Pep Boys special like Maximized2000. Thanks Gents!

I wish... I spent like $70 install and all. I looked everywhere though. The Peps, Auto, and Strauss by me just had JUNK. No stainless. That was my first option, when it failed I went for the expensive side of things. Those stainless from pepboys do look real nice...

any muffler shop should carry tips...all the ones I've visited in my area do catalytic converters...mufflers...and muffler tips...I don't think i've seen one that DOES NOT do tips...

I'm sure now that my pepboys tips are stainless steel because I searched and I found some here:
http://www.mufflermall.com/index.php...roducts_id=445
I'm not sure if this is the correct size though but this is the same type that I have on my exhaust. Its pretty cheap in that website so I'm not sure if you would want to buy it from there (kinda shaddy). It might be safer to just find it at a local shop.

Won't the bolt on tips get loose over time and fly off?

If you screw them down enough it should not be a problem. You could also just check them once in a while...
