low toned exhaust

yeah im about to go pick up my 2002 maxima tomorrow, and ive been looking around for a while trying to find a good exhaust but i dont know what any of them sound like. i went to the exhaust link and most of the links i clicked on didnt even work. im looking for something with a nice low tone, not loud at idle. any suggestions other than what i can find on ebay and custommaxima.com??

thanks

irish why not get headers, maybe the sound is not what you are looking for, but should be better than anything else. cons would be the cost. congrats on the new max. enjoy !

The only true low-toned exhaust that is relatively quiet is the Frankencar, which are pretty much impossible to get these days.

I would suggest Cattman as a second option. Has a great low tone though it is a bit louder. It's not too loud though as long as you don't get headers, IMO.

cattman ftw. i've got the rear muffler section with the ypipe. it sounds pretty deep, but its not loud enough to be annoying.

Back to the thread...I just installed my cattman rear section today. sounds great. I think thats what your looking for. The only time it screams is when you punch it. Otherwise, its very quite at idle and under normal driving conditions.

It'll get louder over time. Mine was really quiet when I first had it installed.

Rahul...was that you last night in Douglaston around 12AM? You popped a U-turn at a dead end, and then took off like crazy.

the rear section itself was 350. I got it directly from Brian, the owner of Cattman. Check out his website cattman.com. You may even want the full catback setup for 550 i believe.
