Yah I think that is definitely a good price, the KBB trade in value which is a lot less than the actual retail value *the price the dealer sells it for* is 19 and a half, so thats an awesome deal, if your interested in a Maxima and are in money conflicts (like me) I would check your local car auctions with a dealer if you wanna check the auction lists out try COPART.com by buying a repo, or a totaled car and fixing it up you can usually save up to 75%, but a given 50%, but know that you will have some trouble selling you car later if you decide to...but 18 grand is a good deal

Ok cool well money is not really a big issue. I can spend up to 23,000 but if this is a good car I'll get this one and use the extra $$$ for mods.
Cool thanks

$18K for that car seems too good. I would take it to your mechanic for a look over, even though it is essentially new.

I have a 2000 SE, all options except heated seats/mirrors, with 7,500 miles, automatic and wouldn't consider less than about $23k.

I would get $18k trade on my car, so I wonder why the dealer is only asking a wholesale value for that car.

Theft recovery, odometer not correct, been in a flood?
Be a little sceptical.

Ok so I just called the Dealer. He said a guy traded it in of a lease. The guy decided he did not like the car so he was going to get an SUV.
Acoording to this guy the only problem with the car is the fact that its not sold yet. HAHA. Anyways they just got the car in.

That does sound low, hhhmm? If you have the VIN #, maybe a history check would help out. I think there is a fee(around $20) but if the history check doesn't meet your stadards you can get your money back.

Yah hes right 18 g's is too good to be true especially froma dealer, use www.carfax.com to get a free lemon check or a 20.00 in depth check, but I mean since you sound pretty sure than whats 20.00 if you might be getting in to trouble...good luck though

Sorry, I'm a little slow with the response. I was looking at smilie faces.
Have to go back to work, my boss thinks I'm wierd for being on max.org too much. let us know how the test drive goes. Oh, does't the dealership by law have to tell you if anythings wrong with? If there is anything wrong with it. Bye.

You should buy a 2k1, I feel there are less probs with the 2k1. You can get a brand new SE for 23k. But then what about the '02 Max? 260 hp and a six speed! But I think that will be a little more $.

Ok well I drove the car. This is what I noticed.
1) Seems faster than the 98 I drove both 5spd's
2) Low End Seems Really Good
3) Paint Job looks good no dents or dings. I did notice that the front bumper had some chips of paint out.
5) Did I mention that it hauled ***
6) Brakes seem fine no squeaks
7) Vin came up clear on carfax.com
8) I might buy this baby.
9) Hmm still have enough $$$ for supercharger too!!
More info to come I'm taking a shade tree mechanic back with me.

Now that is a good exception to getting a 2k1 max is a charged 2k max!

I can see how some people might be sceptical about the car being too good of a deal, but it's possible that there's nothing wrong with it. I can attest to that since I got my green Max at 7 months old with 9500 miles for only $17,500. Three days later I went to CarMax and they offered me $18,500 as a trade, so I knew I got a deal!
